School holidays tend to be jam-packed full of activities, however, if you’re looking for something to do in your downtime (if you get any), we’ve compiled a list of TV shows and movies the whole family can enjoy.

1. The Boss Baby: Back in Business 

Boss Baby is back and coming to your TV screen this April – just in time for the Easter holidays. The popular film-turned-TV series follows Boss Baby and his big brother Tim, navigate their way through the corporate jungle gym of Baby Corp. If your kids haven’t heard of this already, we guarantee this will be a popular one.

2. Lost in Space

For something, both you and the kids will enjoy, try the Netflix remake of 1960s classic Lost in Space. While you can reminisce about the original show you once watched as a child, your children can watch it for the first time. The show tells the story of the Robinson family, one of many selected to find a new world in Earth’s future. The family crash land on an alien planet and must fight against all odds to survive… It’s the classic space adventure!

3. Happy Feet

It’s not a school holidays movie list without Happy Feet! In the world of Emperor Penguins where the only way to attract a mate is through song, a young penguin Mumble finds himself with a failing voice… but a talent all of his own. A feel-good family movie that the whole family can enjoy.

4. The Smurfs

A much-loved family favourite, The Smurfs is a story of little blue forest dwellers being chased out of their village by malevolent wizard Gargamel. When they accidentally get transported to Central Park, the Smurfs try and find a way to get back to their home. Warning: watching this film may result in the kids wanting to play dress-ups and paint themselves blue.

5. Finding Dory

Much-loved character Dory from Finding Nemo stars in her own movie spin-off film, that tells a story of the very forgetful fish’s search for her parents. For those sick of playing the original film on repeat, this may sooth the demand (and your nerves).

6. Paddington

Paddington is a feel-good movie about a bear in search of a home and family. Fall in love with the marmalade-addicted Peruvian bear and follow his adventures as he escapes the clutches of a sinister taxidermist. Prepare yourselves: the kids may or may not request to watch this movie again.

7. Hotel Transylvania 2

Since opening the Hotel to humans, Dracula worries his half-human, half-vampire grandson isn’t showing his vampire side. Dracula enlists some of his friends to help put his grandson through “monster-in-training” boot camp in a bid to bring out his monster side. If you and the kids loved the first movie, we guarantee you’ll enjoy the second one too.
