The tech experts have their say on the Hisense ULED Q8 4K TV

The 2020 Hisense TV range has once again won the hearts of consumers and received high praise from critics and tech media alike.

With 2020 coming to a close, we’re here to share a quick round up of some of the many favourable reviews from Australia’s most trusted tech journalists.

Hisense ULED Q8 4K TV

The Hisense ULED Q8 4K TV is a spectacular piece of technology that harnesses Quantum Dot Colour, Full Array Local Dimming Pro and 200 Smooth Motion Rate to offer impressive colour accuracy and definition. With Dolby Vision™ HDR and Dolby Atmos Audio, picture and sound come together in perfect harmony to create a viewing experience that’s as true to life as anything else on the market.

Critics have been impressed at the power, versatility and value of the ULED Q8, with Trevor Long from EFTM noting that “the Hisense Q8 series doesn’t leave you lacking in any way”, while he concluded that overall it has “outstanding picture quality, high level smarts, amazing Audio (tuned by JBL and forward firing). Plus, it looks the part”.

Thomas Barlett from Gadget Guy remarked that the speed of the latest version of VIDAA was impressive, noting how “You press a button and the TV responds. None of that spinning-icon-thinking-about-it-stuff. Hisense has packed a decently powered processor into this TV”.

Bartlett also showed approval for the amount of apps included on the TV, noting how several of them have “dedicated keys on one of the two remote controls provided with the TV”.

Jason Cartwright from TechAU noted how the 4K AI Upscaler analyses the content you’re watching and “compares it against similar content and then works its magic to optimise the image, frame-by-frame to deliver the best possible quality and remove those harsh jagged edges”.

Cartwright was also impressed with the speed and responsiveness of the Q8, noting how by simply pressing one of the dedicated Netflix or YouTube buttons on the remote ‘in just a couple of seconds the TV has powered on and the app is usable’ and how taking a traditional ‘two-step process’ and making it ‘a one-button function is just a really slick user experience’.
