THE VIEW FROM ON THE GROUND
CES has finished for yet another year after what was an impressive spectacle of all the best consumer tech coming out in 2022 and beyond. As always, Hisense had Stephen Fenech from Tech Guide and Trevor Long from EFTM on the ground reporting back with all the views and news on everything CES.
Although there were thousands of products on display, we’ve whittled down our favourites and compiled our top picks from the week. Read on to see what caught our eye.
Home cinema goes even bigger
Big things are happening at Hisense in 2022 and none more so than the launch of the huge 120-inch TriChroma™ Laser Cinema. Exceptional resolution and crisp, sharp images are complemented by a wider RGB colour range that uses lasers to emit red, green, and blue light. This superb technology means that colours are reproduced with the greatest possible accuracy, which leads to truly magnificent picture quality worthy of any home cinema.
The COVID-19 breathalyser
Most of us have endured the rather unpleasant feeling of being tested for COVID-19. But imagine having to simply blow into a breathalyser that could tell you in mere moments. Well, the technology exists and it’s being produced by ViraWarn. To get a negative or positive reading, all you have to do is exhale once and within seconds it can tell you if you have COVID-19 or the flu.
Dog identification
Just as humans have fingerprints that are entirely unique, dogs’ noses also feature singular patterns that can be used to identify individual dogs. And this is the idea behind Petnow, an app created by C-Lab that allows dogs to be identified by their noses instead of implanted microchips.
Boom for your buck
CES saw the launch of the Hisense U5120G Dolby Atmos Sound Bar. With 12 speakers and a powerful subwoofer, it delivers a compelling audio experience that reaches you from all angles, including overhead. Up-firing speakers project sound above, while side-firing speakers create a wider soundstage all around you, making your home cinema experience second to none.
Expect big things from the Hisense ULED 8K Mini-LED Series U90G TV
The Hisense ULED 8K Mini-LED Series U90G TV was unveiled at CES and is set to delight tech fans and TV aficionados. Using unique backlight technology with 1,000+ local dimming zones and 10,000+ mini-LEDs, it produces deeper blacks and stunning contrast. With AI Upscaling technology, intelligent algorithms analyse images frame by frame and adjust pixels to render the best possible picture quality, regardless of what you’re watching.
