The host nation of the next World Cup is Russia and the tournament will take place in June and July 2018.
There are 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities.
They are Luzhniki Stadium and Spartak Stadium in Moscow, Saint Petersburg Stadium, Kaliningrad Stadium, Kazan Arena, Cosmos Arena in Samara, Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, Volgograd Arena, Mordovia Arena in Saransk, Rostov Arena, Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi and Central Stadium in Yekaterinburg.
Of course, FIFA World Cups always provide us with a Geography lesson, and for those not completely comfortable with Russian locations, here’s the Google Map showing the location of the World Cup stadiums.
The Stadiums have (generally) been clustered around the European side of Russia in order to reduce travel fatigue for the teams. This is necessary to counteract Russia’s vast size and spreading over multiple time zones.
