4K TV offers four times higher resolution of Full HD TV, which mean it’s able to display four times the level of detail. What’s more with a 4K smart TV, you can enjoy the increasing catalogue of 4K shows now available from different streaming services like Netflix and Stan.

So, if your TV feels old and you’re interested in upgrading to a big screen TV, check out what the experts had to say about the 2016 Hisense 55” 4K ULED Series 7 TV (Model No. 55M7000UWG).

News.com.au Tech Editor, Matthew Dunn, explains why the Hisense 55” 4K ULED Series 7 TV greatly outshines its price tag.

“I recently got my hands on a Hisense’s 55-inch Series 7 ULED Ultra HD television and it became apparent that I had gravely underestimated the benefits a new TV would offer.

“As a mid-range television, it outshines its price tag by offering astounding picture quality. Reds are much brighter, there are deeper vivid blues, there are a wider range of greens and much sharper yellows. In fact, the display offers 1.07 billion true-to-life precisely tuned colours and hues for remarkably detailed imagery.”

Nick Ross, Editor of Good Gear Guide explains why Hisense outperforms its competitors and why your next TV should be 4K.

“Frankly, it’s not only hard to find a weak point but it’s hard to think of a better TV…[Hisense is] going to make a dent globally with this. It’s the best TV you can buy.

“It rivals every flat-screen TV on the market for top-quality picture reproduction and colours and it’s more impressive at upscaling than Samsung’s (and LG’s) TVs which is very important when watching real-world TV. Hisense’s remote might not be as high-tech as the Samsung One remote but it’s very responsive and usable. We also prefer the Opera TV operating system which is better supported than Samsung’s Tizen — so there are more apps too.”

Nick Ross also tested all the 4K contenders and named Hisense 4K ULED Series 7 TV “The TV of the year” for 2016.

PC World also named Hisense 4K ULED Series 7 TV the 2016 “Tech Product of the Year”.

Adam Turner from the Sydney Morning Herald likes the picture quality and suggests diving into the picture settings if you’re watching 4K content.

“With a picture that outshines its price tag, Hisense’s 55-inch 55M7000UWG Ultra HD TV punches above its weight in the lounge room.

“Straight out of the box the Hisense’s picture looks surprisingly good. Flick over to the Tour de France on SBS and the contrast shows up the creases in the commentator’s black shirts – which would look like solid black blobs on a dirt-cheap television.”

Popular tech broadcaster, Trevor Long details why you shouldn’t overlook the Series 7.

“Go and find me a better TV for $1500. Frankly, find me a better one under $2500 and I’ll be amazed,” Trevor said.

“The 2016 Hisense 55 inch Ultra HD 4K TV has sat in my test studio for a little while now, and I’m struggling to fault it. For outright picture quality and viewing, Hisense is no second tier slouch, this TV would go head to head with the big names every day of the week – Hisense is a big name, don’t overlook them.”

Trevor Long also named Hisense ULED TVs the “Best TV of 2016”.

Writer, Fergus Halliday discusses how the Series 7 range pushes the boundaries of what high-end LCD displays can offer and why you’re in for a treat with the 55″.

“Hisense’s Series 7 is strikes just the right balance between sleek and powerful. It sits comfortably on the cutting edge of televisual technology—featuring first-class local dimming, HDR and a substantially larger color gamut than other TVs. Where other companies have been busy experimenting with new breeds of display, Hisense have stuck with what they know — and the commitment to their craft shows in the results.

“The local dimming and the wider colour gamut make a big difference. As does the UltraSmooth Motion tech underpinning it. Images look as smooth as they are detailed.”

TechRadar’s Online Editor, Stephen Lambrechts was impressed by the colour display and thinks the 55″ is right up there with any high-end 4K television on the market in the looks department.

“Colour reproduction on the Hisense ULED 4K TV is fantastic, supporting HDR’s wider colour gamut to produce images of exceptional vividness. A few test runs of HDR content, including Mad Max: Fury Road on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Marco Polo on Netflix, showed a high level of fine detail and naturalistic colour gradation.”
